Meet Carrie Longest, PhD, LMHC, NCC, RPT-S

She’s not your average therapist.

What if I told you that there is more than one way to express yourself, and it doesn’t involve words?

This is what play allows. It gives the words without knowing what to say.

As a kid, I never felt I could talk about things that needed to be talked about. As I got older, I knew I wanted to do things differently, to create a safe space for children and adults to feel comfortable enough to express themselves.

This is why I chose play therapy. Play is everyone’s first language, so it provides a natural sense of expression, especially when suffering and it’s harder to find words.

I firmly believe there is extraordinary power in going in and resolving something without consciously knowing what’s going on within us.

Carrie Longest, PhD, LMHC, NCC, RPT-S

I’ve been treating people, not their disorders for over 17 years.

My superpower is the connection through the art of storytelling.

I want to know people and watch them progress as they tell their stories. Everyone has a story, and everyone’s story should be heard.

I specialize in all family and children issues that arise at any stage of life.

So, play therapy may be an excellent place to start, whether you’re transitioning to a significant event, grieving, struggling with anxiety or depression, and having a hard time navigating its ebbs and flows.
